In front of La Rochelle, situated between Nantes and
Bordeaux as well as neighboring Fort Boyard, this island
stretches out on 30 kilometers and is 50 m to 5 kilometers
large.
In its ten small picturesque villages, 3 of which are marinas,
bright colored houses with green window-shutters, ornamented
by rose mallows (Alcea rosea) in a labyrinth of small alleyways are linked through a unique European cultural heritage and 100 kilometers of bicycle- lanes.

An incredible luminosity and an exceptional amount of sunny days per year invite you to relax at these fine sandy beaches.

Le *** welcomes you in Ars-en-Ré, a tourist ranked village famous for its salt, and one of the most beautiful in France that is also widely appreciated by sailors as well as by fans of wellness ("Thalasso") - therapies. You'll admire the impregnable view of the "Fier d'Ars" from the top of the bell-tower, surrounded by salt marches and wild landscapes of a Natural Bird Resort.

Sailors may enjoy the big playground available next door: the Atlantic Ocean.

The daily market takes place right next to the island's biggest Marina where you may discover typical "Ré" -smells and –flavors.
